Every day, Californians trust security officers to help keep people safe—in hospitals, schools, tech campuses, office buildings, and more. From Sacramento to San Diego, we’re there to act as first responders in emergencies and to de-escalate dangerous situations. California’s security officers deserve more than just a paycheck—they deserve dignity. When security officers are respected, well-trained, and fairly paid, our entire community is safer.

In these times, having proper training to de-escalate violent situations is key to making sure that we and the communities we protect can stay safe. Better training prepares officers and retains them in an industry where turnover is much too high. This will make us safer.

That’s why security officers in California are uniting to take change into our own hands. We are joining our voices to raise industry standards. We want better training, higher pay, and an end to pay disparities adversely impacting Black and brown people and women in the industry. We will unite across race and place to fight for new laws, better collective bargaining agreements, and higher standards for security officers everywhere.

Protect the protectors, protect us all. Join us.
