Janitors Fight Back and Win at NBC Universal
An injury to one is an injury to all! On Thursday, March 12, over 200 janitors and SEIU-USWW members rallied in solidarity to protest the unjust and sudden firing of over 100 janitors employed by ABM at three NBC Universal worksites across Los Angeles, with practically NO NOTICE!
But SEIU members mobilized and spoke up. We demonstrated once again that: when we fight, WE WIN! After a repeated worksite actions, ABM agreed to bring our members back to work and with full backpay. We are working with the employer to ensure everyone is onboarded and cleared to return to work.

Lucky Supermarkets is Attacking Immigrant Workers
For 29 years, Pedro showed up to work before Lucky supermarkets opened. While others were still asleep, he was already cleaning aisles, preparing stores, and making sure everything was ready for customers.
Pedro never looked for recognition. He only wanted something simple: a dignified job to support his family. Like many janitors, his work was invisible to most people. But his impact was enormous. On No Kings Day – Airport Workers Hold Rally to Keep ICE out of SFO
Airport workers, union members, and community allies held a “Keep ICE Out of SFO” rally and car caravan on No Kings Day to oppose the expansion of ICE activity in airports and defend the dignity and safety of workers, immigrant communities, and travelers.
ICE is expanding its presence at airports across the country, with agents deployed to multiple locations during the ongoing TSA staffing crisis. While no Bay Area airports are currently on that list, workers say recent aggressive enforcement activity at SFO signals a potential escalation and are calling on local leaders not to look away.
