EIU members and supporters gathered on July 30, at The Westin San Francisco Airport to demonstrate solidarity with security officers as contract negotiations continued.
An estimated 70-80 people ultimately participated, creating a high-energy atmosphere outside the room and eventually entering the room to speak with the employers.
Participants described the action as a powerful demonstration of strength in numbers. The presence of SEIU members and solidarity delegations from other locals across the country reinforced that security officers have broad union support as they continue negotiating for a fair contract.
The gathering concluded with attendees feeling energized and united behind the workers and bargaining team.
