Over 450 Officers in San Diego County Ratify Their First Contract
On November 19th, almost 500 Security Officers in San Diego County finally won their first contract, ratifying it unanimously. For the first time, officers will have access to affordable healthcare, twelve holidays, five vacation days with increases up to fifteen with seniority, guaranteed raises of $4.30 per hour over the five-year contract and dignity and respect on the job.

End of Year Message from President Huerta
Sisters, Brothers and Siblings,
As we come to the close of this year, I want to speak honestly about what a difficult and defining time this has been for working people and for our union. Under the Trump administration, we have seen relentless attacks on workers’ rights, on unions, and on our immigrant brothers and sisters. These attacks are meant to intimidate us, divide us, and silence our voices. But what this year has shown is that you and all members of SEIU-United Service Workers West do not back down.

This year we formed the Social Media Team made up of SEIU members from across the state. The team works with the Communication Department to create content for their worksite campaigns and USWW political priorities.
