Stand With LAUSD Teachers and their Families

How SEIU-USWW members can support Los Angeles teachers and students

On Monday, January 14, 30,000 educators in LAUSD are ready take a stand to improve classrooms and learning conditions for our kids.

SEIU-USWW members understand how critical it is to strike, if necessary, to make lasting changes in our lives. That’s why we stand with LAUSD teachers and their families who are part of a growing national movement to improve schools and the lives of teachers. We must be ready to stand in solidarity with teachers and join them in this fight. We know, the more we stand together, the more unstoppable we are.

SEIU-USWW is joining with the Los Angeles Federation of Labor to support the strike. Here’s what we can do:

Get Loud on Social Media

Never underestimate your power to invite more people into the conversation.

Follow updates HERE and tell your friends on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter that you won’t cross the picket line. Use your own message or the one prepared below. And please use these hashtags: #StrikeReady #RedForEd #UTLAstrong

Sample social media message: I am a member of @seiuusww and I stand with @utlanow educators and will not cross the picket line. Join me now to improve classrooms and schools for our kids in Los Angeles. #StrikeReady #RedForEd #UTLAstrong.

Join the Picket Line

Want to join the picket line? You can adopt one or several schools and join the picket lines before or after school. Nothing is more important than actually standing in solidarity with our teachers. The more community support our teachers have, the stronger their position will be.
