Janitors to Speak Out Against Toxic Chemicals in Albertsons Supermarkets

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Santa Barbara – Janitors who clean California’s leading supermarkets will rally in front of the Albertsons store in the Mesa. Janitors will expose the hazardous chemicals used to clean supermarkets and voice their concerns about the potential dangers to workers and consumers. The event in Santa Barbara is happening simultaneously with action in front of Albertsons stores in Los Angeles, Santa Ana, and San Diego.

Janitors are also protesting the supermarket chain’s plan to shift more of the cost of health care on to working families. Janitors will rally at 12 pm, followed by speakers at 12:15.
